# It's easy to spot experienced conference goers; they brought jackets! It's freezing in the lecture room!

#Jeremy Keith is a clever bloke.

# Interesting point of contention in the audience; it seems a lot of people think that the class attribute is for CSS classes only and that somehow to use it for any other purpose is invalid. I don't agree because I really like the semantic value of classes, especially when they are used for double duty. With a class you can indicate that an element requires a certain visual appearance (via CSS) and a specific behaviour (via DOM Scripting)

# Yes, after hearing him talk I agree, DOM Scripting is the name for the future.

# Jeremy's take on Object Oriented Programming: To understand OO simply replace the word 'property' with 'variable' and'method' with 'function':) .

# He raises an interesting point about web apps. The biggest advatage of using XHTML, CSS and Javascript, is progressive enhancement. No other platform offers such flexibility in the interface, especially when it comes to gentle degradation. So why build web apps so complex that degradation is simply not possible? If you are doing that perhaps you should be using another technology to build your app.

#Hijax : I'm sold. See also Progressive enhancement with AJAX. This rocks my world.

#FreeMind is an excellent tool for note taking.
