The Web as CMS

Tuesday, April 25, 2006

It was a simple thing, reading the latest updates in my current RSS reader of choice, News Alloy. Saw an update from Gizmodo and in it was an embedded video hosted by You Tube. I click on the You Tube player and watch the video. 1 click - watch video.

Create once, publish multiple times. Wasn't that the holy grail of content management systems?

And all powred by the humble URI. This is what I love about the web, no matter how many layers you go through a URI is a direct link to a resource. So simple and yet so powerful!
