Ramblings of the Night 2007-06-21
Sunday, July 22, 2007# Anyone else think there's a touch of irony about Glen Wheatley being charged as a tax cheat? Someone who has been a spokesman for the music industry against the theft of music is nothing but a common thief hmself...
# I think there are too many shut down options on my computer. I only ever want to do two things: Pause temporarily or stop and resume later. A temprary pause is what we currently refer to as 'suspend'. Sure, there's probably also a need for the OS to be able to restart its services somehow but I see no reason for people to have to shutdown a computer completely when turning it off. What is currently called 'Hibernate' is really what people want to do: stop and resume later.
# As far as 'suspend' goes Mac OS X has got it right - it's almost instant and the screen simply goes blank and reappears - and Windows sucks - it can take a moronic amount of time with lots of screen strangeness and ugly lo-res loading screens.
You don't need to use custom HTML attributes or weird classnames - you just bind behaviours to elements as you would style rules in CSS.
