Is peace and quiet really what I want?

I am father of 5 kids 3 dogs and a cat. Quite often I am thinking that I'd love some peace in this mad child and animal filled house of ours. But there's a part of me that understands that when I'm much older and living in a silent house I'm going to want for that chaotic life back again. To put some sound, some life, back into the empty spaces.

Or at least have the kids over as often as I can.
