Holy Shit I Finished Another One!

Wednesday, February 27, 2008

Far out, I've finished editing my second book in my new career as a Technical Editor at SitePoint. The Ultimate CSS Reference was released today. I've been working on it since August, first it became the SitePoint CSS Reference website and then a book. If anyone really needs an example of why XML and XSLT rocks, there you go. The website and the book are both published from the same XML source. I'm really proud of this one; not only is it the most complete and up-to-date CSS reference out there it also has a huggable hard cover! Seriously though, the SitePoint editing team put a lot of love into what could have been a very dry and academic text, all props to Georgina, SitePoint's heroic Language Editor. If you get a hold of a copy of the book, you'll appreciate the weight and solidity and the slick layout and design inside. Props to Xavier the Designer and the super human efforts of Kevin, SitePoint's Technical Director and all-round guru.

On another note, a crack has developed in my Sennheiser HD-555 headphones, see? These are the best headphones I've ever used an the only piece of serious Hi-Fi kit I've ever bought. I'm really bummed about it, what can I do?

And finally, to finish off this HUROIFOMIC 1 series, here's the remainder of something I ate tonight after dinner. It was disgusting.

Yay! Can't wait for my copy to arrive. :-)

My HD555's have the exact same problem on both sides. I tried covering the crack with superglue but to no avail.

Congrats.

I would be shattered if my headphones hemorrhaged like yours are threatening to. I too bought a pair of Sennheiser HD215's - they are awesome and I love them. They are designed differently to the 555's. I guess they are out of warranty? Bummer if so. But I don't think this should happen at all --> so maybe do a blog post about ti and contact the company and see what they say.

Failing that: duct tape holds the universe together :)
