# Well my Prototype based validation library seems to have been well received. I personally like very flexible frameworks that have a simple concept and flexibility; frameworks that don't force you to operate in an overly prescribed manner. Which is why I never put much effort into the actual validation regular expressions. The ones included are really only examples.

I intended it to be a validation framework to run your own validations. And I recently discovered a chinese site doing exactly that. There are some examples of how to leverage the framework to do script based form submission using DOM2 events and another article on how to do custom validation and AJAX based form validation. Very cool stuff!

# Functional programming looks very interesting. Different from procedural and object oriented, it sems to be a program constructed using a collection of algorithms. I see procedural programming as writing sequential instructions, and object oriented programming as constructing a machine to model the problem. Both approaches seem to make you define the state of a problem whereas functional programming simply describes the algorithms that get the problem from one state to another. You can enter the program at any state and it will always know how to get you to the next state.

Because of that one always has the choice of using the whole program or only the individual algorithms needed. I think that's what it's all about. Maybe I'm completely wrong, but this article from that chinese site is doing just that and it rocks! And it seems to be a good match for Javascript.

# I mentioned before the Web as CMS concept looked like a reality right now, well here's  a web app that proves it! A series of articles about Eventsites called " Eventsites: serverless web-development"

# And blow me down, I can't believe a prediction I made in 2002 is coming true! Well... almost. Microsoft FlexGo !?!?!?
