10 Second Review: King Kong

Saturday, December 31, 2005

Peter Jackson's King Kong is story telling at it's best. Rather than depend on the impact of big beasties and make a traditional monster flick, he weaves a strong character driven story with none of the inevitability of previous kong movies. Spectacular beasties abound. Kong is increadibly well done. How did they manage to get so much emotion into those eyes? The settings are mind blowing; from New York during the depression to the lost island they have the same level of detail we saw in the Rings trilogy. In short, I was blown away! Kong is King!
